Why Get Full Coverage Auto Insurance? – West Chester OH
Hi, everyone, Iris Wainscott with Next Generation Insurance Agency. I hope everyone is doing well. Today, I’d like to briefly talk about full coverage auto insurance and what does it really mean. At Next Generation Insurance Agency, we shy away from using that full coverage terminology because it can be misleading. And here’s why. Typically, if someone requests full coverage on their vehicle, they desire physical damage coverage for their vehicle and liability coverage for others. Physical damage coverage is extended via your comprehensive and collision coverage, and liability is extended via your property damage and bodily injury liability limits. What full coverage doesn’t mean is that your policy will include things like rental car coverage, or sometimes referred to as loss of use, roadside assistance, or towing. Those items are considered endorsements and need to be endorsed or requested to be added to your policy to be applicable.
Full coverage also doesn’t mean that you’re fully covered if you cause an accident. You’re fully covered up to your policy limits. For example, if you are held liable for totaling someone’s $50,000 car, but your property damage liability limit is only $25,000, guess what? You’re not going to be fully covered. There’s going to be a gap of $25,000 in coverage that you could be personally sued for. Do you have questions on your current coverage? Would you like to schedule a review of your current insurance portfolio? We’d be happy to help. Give us a call, (513) 661-2997, or check our website out at www.ngi-agency.com. Thank you. We look forward to hearing from you.
